SPRING CLASSES OPEN FOR REGISTRATION

JAZZ
Instructor: Tito Hernandez
Whether you are a beginner or an advance student, this class clearly explains the principles of Jazz dance technique. It describes the vocabulary of pirouettes, pas de Bourrée's, isolations, leaps, jumps, fluidity through the dance and attention to details. We will also be focusing on strength, stretch, and extension. With this foundation, you will gain the knowledge to feel confident in any style of Jazz dance.

HIP-HOP

Instructor: Tito Hernandez
This class explores all of the diverse moves that can be danced to a variety of music. It will focus on persition while still keeping true to the genre. You will learn contemporary moves as well as classic steps. The class involves floor work and partnering. 

LYRICAL

Instructor: Tito Hernandez
In this class you can challenge yourself to combine the skills of classical ballet with modern dance. It will offer you the opportunity to utilize your technique and performance abilities in addition to being able to take risks. 

TAP

Instructor: Tito Hernandez
Do you want to learn all the basic terminology of Tap Dance? From "cramp rolls" , "time steps", "riffs", "buffalos", "shim shams", "draw backs", "pick-ups" to "grab-offs". This is the class for you.

NY DANCE STYLES
Instructor: Ashley Adamek
NY Dance Styles provides access to current NY and LA choreography, teaching rep from today's top choreographers and covering a wide range of styles including contemporary, hip-hop, jazz, house, and even some contemporary musical theatre. Just like an audition, but with less pressure and more fun, bring all of your dance shoes and be ready for anything!

 
MUSICAL THEATRE LIVE
Instructors: Ray Walker and Tito Hernandez

Work in these semester long classes with musical theatre professionals to strengthen your dance, vocal and performance technique. Students will work on staging of classic musical numbers from Broadway and film culminating in an in-class performance at the end of the semester.
Junior Musical Theatre Live ages 8-12
Senior Musical Theatre Live age 13+

Adult Musical Theatre Live age 18+
PLEASE NOTE:  MUSICAL THEATRE LIVE IS A SEMESTER COMMITMENT.

SCENE STUDY (AGES 8-13)
Instructor: Christine Heneghan

Actors are taught the foundations of technique aimed towards practical application in contemporary and classical scenes and monologues. Fundamentals of script analysis and storytelling will be explored in a supportive, ensemble environment. Emphasis is placed on learning a variety approaches that facilitate the honest exploration of the physical and emotional life of the character.
PLEASE NOTE:  SCENE STUDY IS A SEMESTER COMMITMENT.

SCENE STUDY (AGE 14+)

Instructor: Christine Heneghan
Scene Study provides the best opportunity for the committed actor to flex their acting muscles and refine their craft on a consistent basis. Actors build on their foundation of technique in a supportive, ensemble environment. Students are encouraged to work on increasingly challenging material of varying genres requiring them to go deeper into the work.
